We are pleased to announce that we are participating in this year's Transitarte festival in San Jose, Costa Rica, on March 17, 18, and 19. DEKO will be performing at the Teatro de la Danza on March 18 at 1 pm. You do not need to RSVP but you are welcome to let us know you'll be showing support.

Dance Equations presents the flagship piece called Dust ... played by the Deko acting team (Dance Equations and Kompany)
Dust ... Explore the intersection of movement and philosophy, mathematics and science. Through movement, sound, video illustrations and animations, and text, Dust ... examines some of the most influential theories and ideas that have brought us to our present being. First, by proposing a series of numbers experienced through movement, the work explores the equations of Newtonian mechanics, the recurrence of the Fibonacci sequence, and the golden proportion, before proposing a consideration of the computational theory of the mind, a dominant paradigm in psychology and neuroscience. After exploring if our minds are similar to the internal functioning of a computer, and the implications that this comparison has for the concepts of free will and rational choice, Dust ... breaks with mathematical theorems to reveal the joy of simply being.
